Q&A

How is the Soaring Eagle’s season progressing compared to expectations?

“The season is going well so far! We are always considered the “underdog” and I think this year especially, we proved ourselves and have exceeded some expectations. I think we have a long way to go but we are looking forward to playoffs

The UVC conference playoffs will be here soon. Which team do you think is the team to beat in the conference tournament and why?

“I would say that every team in the UVC is a team to beat in the conference tournament and the reason I say this is because anyone can compete with anyone in our conference. And this is shown when you look at the rankings and see that 6 of the seven teams are ranked in the top 15 teams in the country according to the AVCA.”

Give us your picks for the NCAA D3 final 4!

“Even though I would love for Elmira to be in that conversation, my final four would be Vassar, Springfield, Stevens and Carthage”

Which player have you been most impressed by (outside of your own teammates) this season and why?

“I’ve been most impressed with Pat Wing on New Paltz. He transitioned from Middle to Right side and has been a force to wrecked with on that right side. He has a lot of power and can score almost every time he is set.”

What has been your favorite part of Elmira’s season thus far?

“My favorite part of the season so far has been beating NYU in 5 in our own gym and beating Naz in 4 at their gym after losing to them at home in 5.”
