Q&A
How is the Kingsmen season progressing compared to expectations?
“Coming into the season, we all definitely had some high expectations for our play and where we wanted to be. Unfortunately, just before season our captain libero, Eli Moore, tore his Achilles which definitely hurt us a lot. But we knew we had the guys and talent to fill his spot and we just kept moving guys around. After losing a couple of close games at the start of the season, I feel like we’re finally on a good stretch of winning games and hope to continue that moving forward.”
How do you think your team stacks up with Springfield, UCSC and others vying for the at-large bids for the NCAA tournament?
“I think with all of the upsets this year anything is possible. I know Springfield is always a front runner for the independent bids, but we get a chance to face UCSC again this Friday, followed by Juniata the next day, and I know we’re well prepared and want to make a name for ourselves.”
Give us your picks for the NCAA D3 final 4!
“Gotta say Cal Lu (not biased at all), Carthage, Stevens and Vassar.”
Which player have you been most impressed by (outside of your own teammates) this season and why?
“This one’s a tough decision, but I think the way Jarrett Anderson is keeping Springfield in almost every match has been impressive to say the least.”
What has been your favorite part of the Cal Lutheran season thus far?
“The best part has definitely just been getting to travel and bond with my teammates and make some great memories throughout the season.”
