Q&A

How is the Edgewood season progressing compared to expectations?

“All season we have been getting in the gym and working hard. As just a 3rd year program we are continually trying to build a culture and expand our foundation. We have been able to challenge and compete with some really good teams so far this season, but we are still working to take that next step. We’ve faced a few injuries at the beginning of the year that has forced some of our freshmen to step up in key roles for us. But all that aside, we’re all excited to battle through the rest of our season.”

The NACC conference playoffs will be here soon. Which team do you think is the team to beat in the conference tournament and why?

“One of the things I love most about being part of the NACC is the competition you get day in and day out. There are quite a few good teams, but if I had to pick a team to beat in the tournament I’d have to go with Benedictine. They’ve got a lot of experience with their couple of 5th years and are always well-balanced. Definitely a tough team for anyone to play in big matches..”

Give us your picks for the NCAA D3 final 4!

“This one is hard but I’d say my final 4 would be. Stevens, Springfield, Carthage, and North Central.”

Which player have you been most impressed by (outside of your own teammates) this season and why?

“This one’s tough, but of the guys I’ve played this season I’d have to go with Chase Olson from Benedictine. He’s consistently good and very efficient on the offensive side of the game.”

What has been your favorite part of the Eagles season thus far?

“As much as I love the game of volleyball, in college sports the things that last are the relationships that you build along the way. So for me, I’ve just been enjoying being in the gym and traveling with my teammates. Trying to stay in the moment and savor everything that makes being an college athlete so special.”
