Cabrini University, in the midst of some financial challenges, entered into a definitive agreement to be acquired by Villanova University in November 2023. The many details of an acquisition of this type are still being worked through but it appears that Cabrini will keep its name on the campus and continue its legacy rooted by the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart. The Cabrini sports programs are one of the challenging details to be decided in the future, but we have confirmed that Cabrini will not be launching their inaugural D3 volleyball season originally planned for January.

We remain hopeful that this will be a short-term decision and the Cavalier program will resume for the 2024-25. The growth of men’s volleyball has been fast and furious and remains the fastest growing sport at the high school and college level across the country.
