We published an updated ranking this past weekend and need to make one adjustment. The game between Augustana and Clarke University on 2/29 had an error. Clarke is not a D3 team so we manually enter schedule strength for each of the NAIA teams. Clarke’s rating was inadvertently entered as zero instead of 19 which underestimated Augie’s rating for the 3/3 ranking by 1.2 rating points. Augustana would have been ranked #21 in the country rather than #34. Please note this adjustment when looking at reports for 3/3/24. The adjustment will self-correct for the next updated ranking on 3/10.

We were alerted about this error from a fan. It’s always greatly appreciated when fans outreach to us when items like this slip through our internal review. 4 out 5 times, the fans usually have legitimate concerns, so we always listen to this kind of input. Fans are passionate about their teams, so we often receive colorful comments as well as candid and critical feedback in addition to the heads up. And to answer the fans question, we have no current plans to get into the sanitation business in the near or distant future. Apologies to the Vikings and their fans.

Shoutout to Kevin Boncaro of Trine who broke the school record for career aces. Kevin stands at 59 currently and is just a junior so we expect the record to continue to grow through 2025. Congrats Kevin!

Kudos to setter Gavin Newman of St. John Fisher. He now holds the single season record for aces for the Cardinals. He has smashed 53 so far this season. Way to go #8.

St. John Fisher also had another school record fall this past week. Griffin Stella notched his 267th career block establishing the record for most blocks in school history in a career.

Adrian outside hitter Chase Heuer is now a member of the 1,000 kill club for his career. What an awesome accomplishment for this senior.

Congrats to Misericordia Head Coach Rob Wingert for getting his 100th career win after defeating Marymount this past weekend. The Cougars have a great season so far and we can’t wait to see them in the MAC playoffs.

Lots of new individual stats and ratings being posted tonight. Stay tuned.

  1. Just a shout out…..

Senior outside hitter, Michael Eastman crossed 800 kills,100 aces and is close to 1,000 points in his senior season for Illinois Wesleyan. The program is just in its 4th year and they only played 17 matches due to COVID when it was an all freshmen team in 2021. Considering the CCIW is one of the strongest conferences in D3. The 6’2 outside has put up some impressive career numbers. He has also been named captain in all four years.
