Forty teams have now hit the floor for the Mens D3 Volleyball season for 2025. Here are the records of those teams played as well as their conference, pre-season rating, and a very preliminary look at the rating from the algorithm based on the small sample size.
A few observations:
Stevens in the highest rated team according to the math for the first week.
Ten of the 40 teams that have played are undefeated.
Trine is performing at 8 rating points less than our pre-season analysis. Roanoke, Wilkes, Concordia Chicago, Misericordia, and Marymount are performing at 2-6 points less than expectation.
Overperformers compared to preseason analysis include Randolph Macon, Wisconsin Lutheran, and Mount Saint Joseph.
Always hard to tell how early season matches will influence overall record. We do remember that one team last year, from right out of the gate, was extremely successful winning their first 8 D3 matches. And that team was the eventual champs Cal Lutheran.
