Q&A
How is the Vassar season progressing compared to expectations?
“We always knew the talent level on this team was high, but that initial Stevens’ match was a wake up call. We needed to work harder. The progression since then has been great and we can only hope for more as the season goes on.”
The UVC conference playoffs will be here soon. Which team do you think is the team to beat in the conference tournament and why?
“SUNY New Paltz has been playing really good volleyball as of late, so I believe they’re the team to beat in the conference tournament. But, as Ramius mentions frequently in his Frog Jump blog, the UVC is a shark tank and the second you let your guard down against a team, it’s over for you. Every team in the UVC is capable of winning the conference tourney.”
Which player have you been most impressed by (outside of your own teammates) this season and why?
“Jarrett Anderson. To be that efficient, with the volume he gets, is absolutely nuts. Also getting cohesion with a Springfield team that looks much different than last year must’ve been a difficult task, but they have been able to do it this year.”
What has been your favorite part of the Brewers season thus far?
“Beating Springfield! My freshman year, we played them once, losing 2-3. My junior year, we played them twice, losing both 2-3. It felt good to finally win one against them and what’s even crazier was the last time we beat them, some of my teammates weren’t even born yet.”
