1/19/25

Here are the latest records of the 90 teams that have started their season thus far. 38 teams have yet to hit the floor for 2025. This number will continue to wind down through the next two weeks.

So far, 154 matches have been played through 7PM EST Sunday, 1/19. The numbers below do not reflect tonight’s match between UC Santa Cruz and SUNY New Paltz starting at 5PM PST on the west coast.

We have evaluated the teams based on their performance this season so far. It’s a super small sample size but an interesting analysis. We have presented the teams in the order of their pre-season rankings but also show their algorithm rating and ranking for the teams that have played already. We are also showing a far column which gives some grades on whether they are performing at the level of their pre-season ranking. Some other notes…

Hobart leads all teams with 7 wins. They play a double-double next Saturday and Sunday taking on Wentworth, Endicott, Baruch and Emmanuel at the Fenway Invitational. Baruch and Wentworth back-to-back on Saturday at 1PM/3PM is a tough ask for any team. But Andrew Kim has been the best player on any court this season so we will see if his magic stays potent. Juniata, St. John Fisher, Cal Lutheran and Lasell each have 6 wins. On the other side of the spectrum, Sage has 5 losses. Teams with 4 losses so far are Misericordia, SUNY New Paltz, Trine, Buffalo State, Concordia Chicago and Kean. Many of those teams are very good teams but have played brutal early season schedules.

Let’s take a look at new programs. Records and NEW rating being shown and compared…

Lynchburg 2-0 (16.11), Curry College 2-0 (13.41), Westminster 4-3 (16.35), Randolph 1-1 (12.43), Chatham 0-2 (9.94), Greenville 0-0. Gallaudet 0-0, Grove City 0-4 (11.91).
